Andrea Dovizioso's weekend in the DTM was a great experience for the MotoGP star, who at Misano was able to compete on four wheels against rivals from the German tourism series.

I liked the car, the championship is good and the Audi has put a lot of effort together with the WRT Team to guarantee me the best in this opportunity.The level of cars and drivers is very high and it takes time to be competitive, but I I enjoyed the moment. I ran without a particular goal, you can have it only when you have been in this league for some time ".
To understand the reality in which it was catapulted, "Dovi" had tried together with a star like Mattias Ekström in the past few weeks to begin taking measurements at the Audi RS 5 DTM equipped with a 2.0 Turbo engine and a series of systems to increase the performance.
"When you decide to have an experience like this you talk a lot, but there are so many aspects in between that you don't know that in the end it makes every consideration useless. The dynamics are innumerable and even I honestly didn't know what to expect. drivers and I can be satisfied with the car. In reality I am not very happy because I made some mistakes, whereas in Audi Sport everyone complimented me. They were happier! Obviously they know how difficult it is to take this challenge, so the they have a clearer picture of the situation: I did not finish in the best position, coming out of the points, but analyzing everything then you realize that you cannot afford everything, as an inexperienced person ".
In these three days, the Romagna did not pick up points in the race, but the lap times were not bad at all and some nice things showed it.
"The DTM is a strange championship, in practice you see riders making very fast times and then going slow in the race, but also vice versa. And the fastest does not always win, the cars are special and even the strategies, so anything can happen. 1 I did everything I could, I made two great overtakes at the esten and I really enjoyed it. After the break I turned with Fittipaldi and for a while I kept his pace, then he broke off at the end, but he is there " .
"In Race 2 I had a spectacular clutch release at the start, in Audi they told me that I was one of the best in general, but already in practice I saw that the starts came very well.
In the first two corners I slipped finding the right gap, then come out strong at turn 6 and pass two other cars going wide and taking advantage of the acceleration on the outside: a show! Up to that point it was wonderful, then we returned to reality, that is, to deal with who had the step stronger than mine ".
